Rajasthan is the state known for its seamless mysticism, grandeur and rusticity. It is the reservoir of cultural heritage and valiant royal past. Rajasthan is located in the north-west region of India sharing its borders with states like Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat, and an international border with Pakistan. It is stretched along the area of 3, 42,274 Sq Km. The main geographical region of the state comprise of Aravalli hills, the plateau of Hadoti and the Malwa tableland that blocks the flow of the monsoons to the region, creating the vast desert land to the west of the state. The temperature of Rajasthan varies from the very low to the high in this region.
This state receives hundreds of tourist from all over the world owing to its well developed tourism industry. Rajasthan is full of endless opportunities for the tourists such as desert safari, jungle trekking, village tour, urban sightseeing and so on. How to get there?
By Air : Cities like Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur are on the Indian airlines route that links Delhi and Mumbai.
By Rail : Most places of Rajasthan is accessible by the network railway.
What to buy there?
Rajasthan is the ideal place for buying traditional handicrafts. Carpets, cabinets, boxes, trunks, curiously wrought within and without, inlaid with elephants teeth or mother of pearl, ebony, tortoiseshell or wire etc. are easily available there at the reasonable rates.

Major Cities
Jaipur : Known as Pink city of India, it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in India. City Palace, Amer Fort and the landmark Hawa Mahal are truly worth visiting.
Jodhpur : Situated near the Thar Desert in Rajasthan it has many famous landmarks like Mehrangarh fort and Umaid Bhawan.
Udaipur : The fabulous lake palaces in Udaipur; Lake Pichola is very popular tourist destination.
Jaisalmer : Golden fort of Jaisalmer, made of sandstone is very famous. The carved mansions and Jain temples of Jaisalmer are worth seeing. The sand dunes at Sam, near Jaisalmer are the site of the annual Desert Festival.
Pushkar : This city is famous for camel festival and cattle fair in November every year. It is also one of the popular pilgrimage centers of India. Brahma temple, built around the holy Pushkar Lake is much respected by the Hindus. The famous Kumbh Fair is also organized here.
Ajmer : Ajmer is famous for the tomb or Dargah of the Sufi Saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti. People of all faiths come to his tomb to seek the saint's blessings.
